We are a licensed building contractor operating on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We respect your privacy and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.
2. What personal information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include:

The address of the property where work is proposed or carried out
Details of the work you are enquiring about, including plans, drawings, specifications and photographs
Records of our communications with you, including emails, text messages, phone notes and messages sent through this website

We do not seek to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act. If you provide it to us, we will only use it for the purpose you provided it.

4. Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:
Respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
Assess the scope, feasibility and cost of proposed work
Enter into and perform a building contract with you
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, certifiers and other consultants on your project
Arrange building approvals, inspections, insurance and warranty cover
Issue invoices and process payments
Handle defects, maintenance requests, warranty claims and disputes
Meet our obligations under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 and other laws
Keep records required for tax, insurance and workplace health and safety purposes
Send you information about our services, where you have consented and where permitted by law
If you do not provide the personal information we ask for, we may not be able to quote on or carry out work for you.

This website is built and hosted using Framer, a platform operated by Framer B.V. When you visit this website, Framer’s servers may automatically record technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the site you came from.

We do not use this website to collect payment card details.
6. Photographs of your project
We often photograph work in progress and completed projects, and we may use those photographs on this website, on social media, in quotes and in marketing material.
We will not identify you by name or publish your street address in connection with a project without your consent. If you would prefer that we do not photograph your project or use images of it, tell us and we will respect that.
7. Who we disclose personal information to
We may disclose your personal information to:
Subcontractors, tradespeople and suppliers engaged on your project
Designers, architects, draftspersons, engineers and building certifiers
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission and other regulators, where required
Insurers, including for home warranty insurance and public liability cover
Our accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers and other professional advisers
Banks and payment processors
Our IT, hosting, email and software providers
Any person to whom we are required or authorised by law to disclose the information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
8. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we use store data on servers outside Australia. This includes our website host, our email provider and other software services, which may store data in the United States, the European Union or elsewhere.
By providing personal information to us, you consent to it being stored and processed overseas by these providers. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate security and privacy practices.
9. How we store and protect personal information
We store personal information in a combination of physical files and secure electronic systems. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, including password protection, access controls and reputable software providers.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us over the internet.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and for as long as we are required to keep it by law. Building records are generally kept for a number of years after completion because of statutory warranty and limitation periods. When we no longer need information and are not required to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
10. Direct marketing
If you have given us your contact details, we may contact you about our services. Any commercial electronic message we send will identify us and will include a way to unsubscribe, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us using the details in section 13. We will action your request promptly.
11. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to verify your identity before we release information. We will respond within a reasonable time. In most cases we provide access free of charge, though we may charge a reasonable fee for retrieving and copying large volumes of material.
If we refuse a request for access or correction, we will tell you why in writing.
12. Complaints
If you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, contact us using the details in section 13. Set out what happened and what you would like us to do about it.
We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.
